Winners will have a chance to be in the FCC fashion show, which will be unconventional in the form it takes - a fashion festival that anyone can enjoy and is forward thinking in that it foretells a new business model where customers can directly order products from designers.
The purpose of the ModelCC is to offer an opportunity for any aspiring model to be on the global stage. The people who want to be models in fashion shows face an environment that can be very stressful. Many models must starve themselves and are subject to beauty standards that are decided by a few brands that dominate the industry. People outside the industry know those standards are not realistic and this causes many aspiring models to suffer as they try to break into the field.
The ModelCC uses the same crowd evaluation system that is to be used for the FCC. This system allows everyday people to select models who fit the beauty standards of the real world. This can bring new life into an industry where the standards of beauty are not attainable for the average person. By allowing the public to choose models, real people will be able to represent how clothes appear on normal people on the catwalk.
The ModelCC will have 10 winners, all of whom can be on the catwalk for the FCC Fashion show. In addition, for 1st and 2nd place winners, the opportunity to be models exclusively for the FCC fashion show and a cash prize of 10,000 USD and 5,000 USD, respectively.
Prospective models can submit either a video or photos of themselves to enter the competition. The submission period is from August 24th through September 9th. The crowd evaluation period is from September 10th through September 13th. The winners will be announced on September 14th.
